The Mighty Esox: An Illustrated Supernatural Mystery Novel

After his grandfather’s funeral, James Roslyn discovers a decades-old note hidden inside a book—one that describes a mysterious village concealed deep within the Northwoods of Wisconsin on an Ojibwe reservation. His grandfather once stumbled upon the village by accident decades earlier and spent several life-altering days among its people… but never had the chance to return.

Haunted by his grandfather’s unfinished journey—and burdened by his own regrets—James becomes determined to find the elusive place and say the goodbye his grandfather never could.

Joined by his older brother, Alan, James travels north with fishing gear, camping supplies, and a plan to stay seven days. When they arrive at the hidden village of Aanakwad, they quickly realize that nothing there is quite what it seems.
Told from James’s perspective five years later, The Mighty Esox recounts a transformative week marked by rediscovered love, a growing obsession with catching an impossible fish, and an unseen supernatural mystery quietly unfolding around him—one that would forever change how he understands the world, and himself.
